Local, small businesses can make a big difference in helping to engage and inform families on the importance of early childhood and the community resources that are available. Items such as bookmarks, brochures, and posters can be made available to you for display or distribution to your customers.
Below is an example of how a local, small business and its customers helped send 10 children to preschool who otherwise couldn’t have afforded it.
Peachwave of Holland and their customers raised $10,000 for Ready for School by asking customers to round up their tab as they paid for their frozen yogurt purchase. Apparently, frozen yogurt puts people in the giving mood because 10,826 donations were made. Peachwave matched all customer donations dollar-for-dollar.
As a father and business owner I value the work that Ready for School is doing to invest in our children. Small businesses, like mine, rely on a thriving community and by investing in our families we are helping to keep our community thriving now and in the future.
